Tom Mohler is CEO of Ocean Holdings, which includes the company’s owned and operated companies: Ocean Communications, Olympusat, Inc., Olympusat Telecom, Ocean Distribution, Ocean New Media and Hatch Entertainment. Under Ocean Communications, Tom built the company into the largest independent distributor of cable networks with programming contracts and inventory totaling more than 60 million homes to date. Combining his understanding of the needs of independent networks, Tom began Olympusat, Inc., which owns and operates multiple TV cable networks and is the first company of its kind in the media industry offering such independent cable networks vertical integration by providing transport, distribution and advertising services through a single, independent company.
With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Kim oversees key facets of network development including distribution and managing video provider and network partner relationships. As a business developer, she manages the company’s linear and non-linear business. This includes transactional and traditional programming as well as owned and operated networks. Kim is directly responsible for revenue sources, strategic partnerships and maximizing distribution goals. Prior to Ocean Communications/ Olympusat, Kim worked for Comcast Cable, Pepsi Winner’s Circle and national sponsor driven programming and syndicated series. Kim graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Telecommunications from the University of Florida.
Chris Williams is the Chief Financial Officer for Olympusat. With almost 20 years of experience, Chris joined Olympusat from the Financial Planning and Analysis group of Rayonier. While working for this publicly traded forest products company he primarily focused on quarterly earnings releases, Board of Directors reporting, and SEC reporting.
Prior to that he held Controller positions with Roush Racing, a multi-team NASCAR racing organization, and Healthlink, a healthcare IT consulting firm. During his tenure at Healthlink, the company experienced rapid internal growth fueled by a venture capital raise and a significant strategic merger, later leading to the acquisition of the company by IBM. Chris began his career as a Financial Analyst with Bank of America. He maintains an active CPA license and holds a B.S. degree from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Florida State University.
As General Counsel and EVP of Affiliate Sales & Distribution, Colleen has been spearheading Olympusat’s distribution efforts for the Spanish-language networks, Faith & Families and Digital services for more than 11 years. Colleen’s distribution efforts focus on identifying and securing multiplatform distribution such as VOD, Broadband and Mobile applications.
Prior to this, Colleen was at Lifetime Television as VP of Affiliate Relations and Marketing where she was responsible for negotiating distribution agreements with the industry’s leading cable operators and overseeing the sales, marketing and revenue generation for a 21-state region. Colleen’s prior cable experience includes positions with The Disney Channel as a Senior Account Executive and with the now defunct Noncable Resources as Director of Field Marketing.
Chuck Mohler is a fourteen year veteran of Ocean Communications and Olympusat and has been a part of the leadership team responsible for the growth of the companies, focusing on execution of key initiatives for distribution and communications solutions for Olympusat’s networks as well as Ocean’s client networks. He currently runs Ocean Communications, the company’s transactional network distribution division and has led the successful integration of Ocean’s distribution expertise with Olympusat’s technical capabilities, adding another dimension of client solutions for the company.
He is a founding member of the leadership team launching the company’s latest venture, Olympusat Telecom, an end-to-end terrestrial communications provider with state-of-the-art, cost-effective solutions for streaming, bandwidth and communications needs. Chuck joined the company in 1998 and became a member of the Board of Directors for Olympusat in 2000. Prior to that Chuck worked for U.S. Representative John Boehner (OH-8), both in Ohio and on Capitol Hill.
Raul Acosta has 20+ years of experience in the Hispanic media and entertainment industry. As an artist and music executive (CEO of 24K Entertainment), he has created and organized a network of people around the world in television, print, internet and radio. This includes artists, actors, hosts, promoters, sales & booking agents, event producers, publishing reps, record labels & distributors, brand sponsors, grassroots marketing teams, as well as key music industry players across the board. He has worked with many Hispanic Media Companies as a consultant, talent or co-producer of events and performances. These companies include Univision TV & Radio, Telemundo, TV Azteca, Mun2s, SBS Communications, Mega Communications, Clear Channel, Gois Broadcasting, Supercanal TV and more. He has also been the front man of a very well established international Latin touring band called Raul Acosta y Oro Solido. He also has prior experience with sponsors like Pepsi, Western Union, Goya, Budweiser, Corona, Presidente, Hennessy, STI Mobile, Verizon, Nokia, IDT, Banco Popular and more. He continues to tour with his band in major venues across North America, South America, the Caribbean and Europe.
April Stack, Olympusat’s Controller, joined the accounting department in 2002 as a Sr. Staff Accountant. She is in charge of coordinating, planning, and reporting on the financial activities of Olympusat’s growing infrastructure. She is also responsible for setting up controls and overseeing record keeping ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting functions.
Prior to joining Olympusat April held accounting roles Adesta Communications and Guaridan – Consolidated. April graduated from Troy State University with a B.S. in International Business, and a Certificate of International Management from Hodgeschool Gent, Belgium. She also holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and a M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic University as well as an active CPA license from the State of Florida.
Bill Saltzgiver is the Senior Vice President of Network Operations for Olympusat, Inc. A veteran of the broadcast business for over 30 years, Bill brings to Olympusat an in depth knowledge of network administration and program acquisition. Before joining Olympusat in August of 2000, served as the Vice President & General Manager/General Sales Manager positions at WNPA, UPN 19, Pittsburgh, WNYB, Fox 49, Buffalo, and WPGH, Fox 53, Pittsburgh. Bill has also worked in various programming and production capacities prior to holding his General Manager responsibilities, including being a Program Manager at WPGH, Pittsburgh, and Executive Producer at WKBD TV in Detroit and a Production Manager at KPHO TV in Phoenix. Bill started his career as a News Reporter at WHEN TV (now WTVH TV) in Syracuse, New York. He holds a B.S. degree in Communications from Ithaca College.
As SVP of Olympusat’s owned and operated channels, Arturo Chavez’ key responsibilities include day-to-day management of the company’s 14 different Hispanic owned and operated networks, which include: Cine Mexicano, ¡Sorpresa!, Gran Cine, Ultra Mex, Ultra Cine, Ultra Clasico, Ultra Movies, Ultra Docu, Ultra Kidz, Ultra Tainment, Ultra Luna, Ultra Macho, Ultra Fiesta, Cine Clasico. He is responsible for overseeing all acquiring content for all the networks.
With over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry. He is widely recognized and considered one of the most knowledgeable experts of Spanish-language films in the U.S. market. Prior to this, he was Director of the Latino Division for Lionsgate where he was responsible for the division’s product development, product management, and release schedule planning. He played an instrumental role in Lionsgate’s assessment, qualification, and acquisition of all product lines and a significant role in the development of the company’s overall Latino category. He is a graduate from University of Aguascalientes in Mexico, and holds a B.A. in Business Development and Administration.
Nick Febrizio is a Television Content Distribution executive with an expertise in National Accounts Sales & Management, Strategic Marketing Partnerships and Field Management. As a member of the AETN Distribution team, Nick was responsible for launching and distributing numerous television brands including A&E, History, BIO, H2, Crime & Investigation, Military History & History en Español as well as each brand’s’ respective HD channels and VOD components. As SVP, Distribution, Nick is responsible for leading Olympusat’s content distribution efforts with numerous distributor partners including Comcast, Time Warner and Cablevision. Prior to joining Olympusat, Nick held long-term distribution sales and marketing consultant roles with WWE and Univision Communications. Additionally, Nick worked in the new media space and championed Mobile Video content distribution resulting in an AETN Mobile content partnership with Verizon’s V-Cast platform. Nick holds a B.A. in Communications from LIU (Long Island University).
Albert J. Estrada heads up Olympusat’s Business Development and Professional services group - known as Olympusat 360. Mr. Estrada is focused on creating commercial platforms while achieving business growth for Olympusat's core business assets. Albert began his career with HBO as an account executive in cable affiliate sales and joined HBO Satellite Services, where he managed HBO's retail/wholesale businesses to the C-BAND market. He was part of the initial team that launched DIRECTV in the U.S. then added Latin America to his DIRECTV portfolio, where he successfully introduced DIRECTV into fifteen countries within the region.
Albert became a key sales and marketing executive at Space Systems Loral where he sold geostationary satellites to satellite operators in the Americas. Mr. Estrada has a solid entertainment, distribution, content and technology background and has helped in the creation of new networks such as SiTV, has successfully marketed satellite capacity at Satmex, and has sold medium and high-power GEO satellites while at Space Systems Loral. Prior to joining Olympusat, he managed several key entertainment technology accounts in the U.S. and Latin America.
Austin Powers is the President of Olympusat Telecom. He began his career in the 80’s selling telecommunications services for global giant, Cable & Wireless. Austin’s success at C&W selling national and global accounts resulted in his recruitment by MCI-Verizon where he spent 10+ years in sales management. He also managed sales teams for Global Crossing and Primus. His record of building and developing sales teams to consistently grow revenues for clients such as Wal-Mart, IBM, Siemens, Citigroup, Coca Cola, Office Depot, Jabil Circuit, Tyco Int’l, and many others has earned him numerous prestigious awards.
During his tenure at Primus Telecommunications, Austin developed and managed one of the largest indirect channel sales partner programs in North America with over 1200 agents and over $300 million in annualized revenues. Austin also focuses on new business development opportunities for Olympusat Holdings and is leading Olympusat Telecom to be the comprehensive communications carrier of the 21st century.
Francisco has several years of experience developing and implementing sales, business development, strategic alliances and marketing initiatives in Latin America, Europe and US Hispanic markets. He has extensive experience launching TV networks including HTV, Bloomberg, MGM, Playboy and several others. His experience includes Managing Director of Bloomberg Media for Latin America, VP of Affiliate Sales for MGM and Cisneros TV Group, VP of Sales & Strategic Development for Coaxmedia & ITS.
He has also been responsible for launching VoIP and Wi-Fi solutions, in addition to managing P&L, sales revenues and formulating strategic initiatives for sales, marketing and biz development teams across multiple offices in several geographical regions. He manages several key accounts in the US and International markets and is responsible for launching a number of HD Networks and an OTT technical and content solution for Olympusat. He holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Florida and is completing a Business Administration Graduate Certificate at the University of Miami.
Dave Kelly has nearly 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry with various roles at programming networks including A+E Networks and Starz LLC. While working with major cable distributors in the U.S. and Canada, much of his career has focused on contract negotiation, sales and account management, marketing strategy, and business development. Prior to joining Olympusat, Dave held the title of Vice President, Affiliate Relations at Canoe Ventures to expand the growth and development of Interactive Television (ITV) and Video on Demand Dynamic Ad Insertion (VOD DAI).
John Baghdassarian is a cable industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience in sales, negotiations, new business development and distribution in a mulit-platform environment. John has successfully worked for established media companies as well as startups. Prior to Olympusat, John headed up distribution for the eScapes TV Network and led the charge in distributing eScapes TV on domestic and international linear and digital platforms and monetizing the content on nontraditional platforms. John was also a member of the network’s new product, (VOD/HD/IP) strategy and development team. John managed major distributors, including Comcast, Charter Communications, DirecTV, EchoStar, AT&T as well as digital distributors Hulu, Apple TV and Google TV/YouTube. Previously, John worked at youtoo TV the first social TV Network; AMC Networks, including AMC, WE and IFC. Prior to AMC Networks, John had stints working for Showtime Networks, Viacom/Comedy Central as well as Scripps Networks’ Food Network. John received a BA from UCLA, an MBA from Pepperdine University and is an Alumnus of CTAM’s Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Maritza Guimet is an accomplished director, creative writer, and producer with over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Guimet has worked at the Miami Beach Film and Print Office as an Assistant Coordinator. She has been key in the development of many productions & Film Festivals in South Florida. Her clients include PBS, BET, Island Records, MTV, Caiman Records, Globo TV, Telemundo, Venevision, Fonovideo, and Televisa among others. In 2006 she started Florida Media Market & CPA Films. Currently she is the VP of International Business Development & Production for Olympusat.
Shawn Copenhaver is the Director of Creative Services and is responsible for the on-air branding elements for all of Olympusat’s owned and operated TV networks. In addition, Shawn oversees all studio and original productions for Olympusat and is a key on-air liaison between Olympusat’s uplink facilities. Prior to Olympusat, Shawn spent over four years with Palm Beach County’s Solid Waste Authority as a cameraman, editor and director for the award-winning show, eTV (Environmental Television). He was also a part of production teams throughout the environmental industry, which have consistently won Emmy, Telly, Aurora and Addy Awards.
Prior to eTV Shawn spent four years in cable production with Comcast, Baltimore and Adelphia, West Palm Beach shooting, editing, and managing digital commercial insertion of local cable television advertising. Shawn is a television production graduate of The Broadcasting Institute of Maryland. He is currently writing, producing and directing original movies and series for Olympusat’s multiple Spanish-language networks.
As Vice President of Technical Operations, Eric is the company’s leading technical liaison between the Olympusat offices in West Palm Beach and uplink facilities in Atlanta, GA. Eric is Olympusat’s main conduit with industry technicians from around the world, and handles all incoming technical inquiries. He also runs the technical support center for Olympusat’s affiliate operators, including offering technical recommendations and handling all crisis management related to technical operations.
Prior to Olympusat, Eric worked for Comcast Communications for 10 years in several areas within head-end operations including Advertising Sales Engineering, Video Production and Field Operations. In addition to critical field experience, Eric’s industry training includes Motorola/General Instruments’ DigiCipher II Uplink Training, ITT Technical Institute; completion of Video Production Training from the National Cable Television Institute and SeaChange International Engineering Training.
Peter Savov is the Director of Information Technology for Olympusat, Ocean Communications and Olympusat Telecom. He joined Olympusat in 2007 and has played a key role in facilitating the company’s growth. He started his career with the Executive Agency Maritime Administration to Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Republic of Bulgaria. As Senior Surveyor, he created charts and 3D graphics of the waterways to allow passage of large ocean-going vessels.
In the U.S. he has specialized in Network Infrastructure, System Administration, Software and Hardware support. He received his education at Varna Technology University, Bulgaria and later his Computer Science Degree from FMU (Summa Cum Laude). In 1999, he was accepted as a member of MENSA Bulgaria, affiliate of MENSA International.
With over 16 years of Human Resources experience in working with companies such as Florida Public Utilities, Shands Home Care, Nortel Networks, Republic Services, ADP Total Source and most recently TriNet (formerly Gevity). At TriNet she oversaw 100 companies and 1,400 employees at various client sites in Florida on benefits, payroll, employee relations, client retention, etc. Her expertise ranges from benefits, payroll, employee relations, recruiting, HRIS, implementation, training, compliance as well as various other aspects of Human Resources.
Katie received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. She is PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certified. She is also currently pursuing her MBA with a concentration in Human Resources at Nova Southeastern University. And she volunteered as the Community Relations/ SHRM Foundation Chair for Human Resources Association for Palm Beach County for 4 years where she hosted several network events for HR professionals as well as raised over $10,000 for various charities in South Florida area and for SHRM Foundation scholarships. She continues to volunteer her time to HRPBC.
Juan Bruno is the Director of New Programming Acquisitions & Contracts for Olympusat’s Spanish Language Networks. Prior to this, Juan held the position of Operations Manager and was equally involved in the day-to-day operations of new content and contract management for all Spanish Language networks, along with being key support in additional areas of the company. He joined Olympusat in 2007, and has been directly involved with all network operations, including programming & scheduling, for Olympusat’s top networks, Cine Mexicano and Gran Cine. Juan Bruno currently holds a BA degree in Business Economics and Administration from CCNY.
