As Chief Content Officer, Aurora Mohler oversees the content acquisition and content distribution efforts for Olympusat, as well as playing a critical role in the development and strategy of Olympusat’s products in the U.S. and Latin America. Aurora continues to grow and strengthen the relationships with our valuable programming partners from around the world for scripted content as Olympusat expands operations into Asia and Europe. Aurora has over 23 years of international experience in the areas of content acquisition, business development, strategic planning, and international negotiations in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Prior to joining Olympusat, Aurora Mohler was employed by Blue Stone Management in where she led the firm in executing its international expansion while engaging property owners, developers and global retailers including Shin Kong Place, Apple, XpresSpa, Paradies, MTR, DFS through Asia-Pacific and the United States. As a Director, she was responsible for developing business opportunities in Asia and the Americas as well as representing the firm as part of volunteer leadership committees in trade associations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Before joining Blue Stone, Aurora Mohler worked as a Director for Altus Group Latin America developing business opportunities in valuation, portfolio management and development consulting services throughout Latin America. She served as spokesman and information source for the firm internationally.
As CRO for Olympusat, Inc. Amanda Miller is responsible for developing the company’s strategic sales plans, as well as managing distribution channels, and deployment of sales for the organization. Accomplished in all areas of advertising and distribution sales, Amanda Miller has a history of exceeding sales goals and executing strategic business plans that achieve key objectives.
Her exceptional leadership and management skills, along with her experience in all areas of advertising and distribution sales have attributed to the success of the Olympusat and Ocean Communications. Amanda Miller joined Olympusat in 2016 serving as SVP of Customer and Affiliate Relations. In her role she oversaw all transactions, providing a holistic plan for network distribution, negotiation, advocacy, end-to-end content delivery, origination and promotion.
Amanda Miller began her media career in 1999, spending over 15 years at Time Warner Cable/Charter in the direct response space where she negotiated with networks for carriage and tune-in advertising campaigns. She is responsible for the creation of the first nationwide marketplace network to be distributed full footprint by a major cable operator, allowing several types of paid content providers to be aggregated into one space. She was also instrumental in centralizing all long form advertising under a corporate umbrella, driving up value and streamlining operations and processes across all divisions.
Maria Gómez has over 25 years of domestic and international experience in affiliate relations, network management and new business development in the Communications/Satellite and Faith Network Industries.
After a successful thirteen-year career with Olympusat, Christian Bieler was appointed General Manager of Spanish Programming, overseeing all aspects of Olympusat's Spanish-language channels. Christian is responsible for the overall success of the networks with full accountability for content, sales and operations, while managing day-to-day relationships with programming providers, as well as articulating and executing strategic programming plans.
In addition, Christian designs and delivers programming that drives ratings and revenue growth strategies to maximize profit opportunities with the core business and new media.
Christian holds a B.A. degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente in Cali, Colombia.
Fernando Vargas is the General Manager of Olympusat’s México City office, where he oversees a division of more than 45 employees dedicated to film restoration and dubbing services.
Fernando’s responsibility is to carry on and follow through on the transformation of Spanish-language movies that are still in the traditional 16 and 35 nitate format via the technical processes of film restoration. These reels are then transformed into High Definition 2K formats. This has provided Olympusat with a numerous and diverse array of Spanish speaking movies from the “Golden Age” of Mexican cinema.
In addition, Fernando also manages the dubbing of movies, soap operas and documentaries into Spanish. This was an assignment given to Fernando by the company’s CEO, and has been a great success, thanks to the effort and hard work of the dedicated Mexico City team.
Fernando Vargas is a graduate from Full Sail University in Cinematographic Production. He also has a degree in Communication Sciences/Journalism from the San Antonio Abad del Cusco University in Perú. He is also an active member of the National Journalists Association in Perú, the ANP.
Juan Bruno is the Director of New Programming Acquisitions & Contracts for Olympusat’s Spanish-language Networks.
Prior to this, Juan held the position of Operations Manager and was involved in the day-to-day operations of new content and contract management for all Spanish-language networks.
In addition, he has supported other areas in the company, primarily the Legal and Accounting departments.
He joined Olympusat in 2007 and has since been directly involved with all network operations, including programming & scheduling for Olympusat’s top networks, Cine Mexicano and Gran Cine.
Juan Bruno currently holds a BA degree in Business Economics and Administration from CCNY – The City University of New York
Peter is the Chief Technology Officer for Olympusat and is in charge of improving our technology as it relates to all things, including software with FreeTV and the movement of all content. He joined Olympusat in 2007 and has played a key role in facilitating the company’s growth. He started his career with the Executive Agency Maritime Administration to Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Republic of Bulgaria. As Senior Surveyor, he created charts and 3D graphics of the waterways to allow passage of large ocean-going vessels.
In the U.S. he has specialized in Digital TV Broadcast, OTT, OVP video delivery, IP Video delivery, Network Infrastructure, System Administration, Software and Hardware support. He received his education at Varna Technology University, Bulgaria and later his Computer Science Degree from FMU (Summa Cum Laude). In 1999, he was accepted as a member of MENSA Bulgaria, affiliate of MENSA International.
As EVP and General Counsel, Colleen heads up the legal department for Olympusat Holdings. Prior to this, Colleen spearheaded Olympusat’s distribution efforts for the Spanish-language networks, Faith & Families and Digital services.
Prior to her time with Olympusat, Colleen was at Lifetime Television as VP of Affiliate Relations and Marketing where she was responsible for negotiating distribution agreements with the industry’s leading cable operators and overseeing the sales, marketing and revenue generation for a 21-state region. Colleen’s prior cable experience includes positions with The Disney Channel as a Senior Account Executive and with the now defunct Noncable Resources as Director of Field Marketing.
Tom Mohler is the CEO of Olympusat Holdings, which includes its owned-and-operated companies: Ocean Communications, Olympusat, Inc., Olympusat Telecom, Olympusat Entertainment, Ocean Distribution, Ocean New Media, Hatch Entertainment, Magicorp and Road 8 Entertainment.
Founded by Tom nearly 20 years ago, Olympusat has established itself as a leader in the Hispanic television and media space, owning and exclusively distributing over 70 television networks. Olympusat is also the only company in the world to roll out a suite of 20 HD Spanish-language television networks. In addition to its vast portfolio of Spanish-and English-language networks, the company is the most prolific producer of Spanish-language programming with 2,000 hours of original content per year, including award-winning titles, feature films and scripted television in both Spanish and English.
Olympusat also recently launched VEMOX™, a cost efficient and reliable B2B carrier-grade OTT platform that combines technology and content with over 70 Spanish-language networks, including 40 HD networks, and 30,000 hours of VOD content. Olympusat Holdings is a unique and dynamic company that provides technical and management functions for operating and distributing television networks, brands and products. The company operates major offices in Mexico City, Mexico and West Palm Beach, Florida, and employs a staff of over 400 full-time employees.
As Vice President of Technical Operations, Eric is the company’s leading technical liaison between the Olympusat offices in West Palm Beach and our partner Uplink/Downlink facilities. Eric is Olympusat’s main conduit with industry technicians from around the world and handles all incoming technical inquiries involving our satellite services.
He also works closely with our 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) for Olympusat’s affiliate operators, including offering technical recommendations, handling all crisis management issues related to our satellite technical operations.
Prior to Olympusat, Eric worked for Comcast Communications for 10 years in several areas within head-end operations including Advertising Sales Engineering, Video Production and Field Operations. In addition to critical field experience, Eric’s industry training includes Motorola/General Instruments’ DigiCipher II Uplink Training, ITT Technical Institute, completion of Video Production Training from the National Cable Television Institute and SeaChange International Engineering Training.
John Baghdassarian is a cable industry veteran with over 20 years of experience. In his new role, John serves as a key member of the acquisition and licensing team. His main goal is to work closely with content producers, broadcasters and distributors from Germany, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. John’s goal is to acquire top-notch content and support Olympusat’s strategy to put together multicultural content that embraces different genres and filmmaking styles in order to offer unrivaled programming from all over the world on Olympusat's owned-and-operated channels and VEMOX™. Prior to his new role, John served as Olympusat’s Vice President of Distribution, overseeing the distribution of the company’s owned-and-operated channels on linear and digital platforms.
Previously, John worked at AMC Networks, including AMC, WE and IFC. Prior to AMC Networks, John worked for Showtime Networks, Viacom/Comedy Central, as well as Scripps Networks’ Food Network. John received a BA from UCLA, an MBA from Pepperdine University and is an Alumnus of CTAM’s Executive Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Shawn Copenhaver is the VP of Creative Services and Post Production. In Addition to overseeing the Creative Services Department, Shawn Copenhaver will oversee all aspects of the Post-Production workflow on all of Olympusat Original Productions and work with Yeshua Castillo, VP of Original Productions, on each production to review and define the production and post-production guidelines.
Also, the VP of Creative Services and Post-Production will act as liaison to problem-solve creative challenges tied to delivery of content for a multitude of projects, platforms, and networks. Prior to Olympusat, Shawn spent over four years with Palm Beach County’s Solid Waste Authority as a cameraman, editor and director for the award-winning show, eTV (Environmental Television). He was also a part of production teams throughout the environmental industry, which have consistently won Emmy, Telly, Aurora and Addy Awards.
Prior to eTV, Shawn spent four years in cable production with Comcast, Baltimore and Adelphia, West Palm Beach shooting, editing, and managing digital commercial insertion of local cable television advertising. Shawn is a television production graduate of The Broadcasting Institute of Maryland. He is currently writing, producing and directing original movies and series for Olympusat’s multiple Spanish-language networks.
As Senior Director of Software Architecture, Kyle Kanouse manages Olympusat's team of highly skilled developers, while coordinating overall system architecture and design. He is responsible for the company's software development, as well as the cutting edge infrastructure needed to support these systems. Kyle brings over nine years of development experience in the fast-paced, dynamic and agile environments of start-up companies to Olympusat's large enterprise systems. He specializes in solutions architecture using cloud technologies, continuously improving and updating Olympusat's digital infrastructure, as well as managing the development of various digital products and services.
Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Florida and attended the esteemed University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in Manchester England.
